Parliamentary election in Egypt is expected to be held in two stages and will take place in October and November, a High Elections Committee source told Al-Ahram newspaper on Sunday.
The committee is said to have already started checking the list of the electorate both inside and outside of the country.

The elections were initially scheduled for March but the country’s Supreme Constitutional Court ruled that the legislation regulating electoral districts in Egypt was unconstitutional and the elections were delayed.

Egypt’s parliament was dissolved in 2012 by the Supreme Constitutional Court as it deemed that the election law, according to which the parliamentarians were elected, discriminated against independent candidates.
