 Azerbaijani detained by Armenians to be aided-Georgian governer
Armenian border guards have demanded the documents of Kakhrail villager, Azerbaijani Turgay Mikayilov (1980) who was detained in Armenia
According to him, an investigator from Bolnisi district learned yesterday details of the incident and questioned the eyewitnesses. “We were all interrogated yesterday. I took Turgay’s foreign passport, national ID card and birth certificate to the Ququti customs checkpoint and they gave copies of the documents to Armenian border guards,” he said.

Kvemo-Kartli regional governor Paata Khizanishvili said in a statement to APA he is informed about the incident that took place in the Yirganchai village, Dmanisi district, and that the issue is being investigated. “We have taken the incident under control. All Georgian law enforcement agencies are aware of the incident. We are now trying to verify the facts and we will try our best to provide necessary aid to our citizen,” said the governor.

Note that, on July 23 Fakhrali villager T. Mikayilov was detained by Armenian border guards and taken to Yerevan. It is said that he will be handed over to Georgia after two months’ detention in Yerevan.
