Iran FM kicks off Lebanon visit
Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif left Tehran for Lebanon August 11.
ISNA reported that Zarif will visit Lebanese officials and then will continue his regional trips.

Last week Turkey announced that Zarif will visit this country as well, but a source in Iran`s Foreign Ministry told ISNA that this visit was postponed due to problems in scheduling the meetings with Turkish officials.

Zarif will visit India on Aug.14 as well, according to India`s External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj`s statement on Monday.

Two weeks ago, Zarif visited Kuwait, Qatar and Iraq.

Lebanese al-Binaa reported earlier that Zarif will meet Speaker Nabih Berri, Prime Minister Tammam Salam as well as Hassan Nasrallah, secretary general of the Lebanese political and paramilitary organization Hezbollah.

The report also said that the Iranian FM would meet with some Palestinian figures.

Ahmad Majdalani a member of the Palestine Liberation Organization Executive Committee who traveled to Tehran told Fars News Agency Aug.11, "Putting an end to disagreements, conflicts and reaching reconciliation with Hamas was our goal in visiting Tehran".
