Turkey: `440 PKK militants killed` since July operations
At least 440 suspected militants of the outlawed Kurdistan Workers
The figures were obtained from various security sources, including the Turkish General Staff official statements, police and gendarmerie sources, Anadolu agency reports.

Out of the 440 killed, 390 suspected PKK militants died in airstrikes inside Turkey and in northern Iraq, including the Qandil Mountains.

Also, more than 400 PKK members were injured, including 150 critically, in the operations against the group.

Moreover, a total of 51 PKK militants surrendered to security forces, including 42 in Sirnak province, two in Mardin, one each in eastern Kars, Agri, Siirt and Hakkari provinces.

Security forces have also carried out operations against the PKK-linked Kurdistan Communities Union and Patriotic Revolutionist Youth Movement across the country.

In total, 1,730 suspects, including those under 18 were detained and of those, 417 were put behind bars on charges of having links with the PKK group.
The detainees include local political figures from the pro-Kurdish Peoples` Democratic Party (HDP).

In western Mugla province, Abdullah Ipekli, the party`s co-chairman in Marmaris district, and three HDP people were detained on suspicion of having links with the PKK on July 27.

Semsettin Aykac, the HDP`s municipal assembly member in eastern province of Siirt, was arrested on July 27.

The PKK is listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the U.S. and EU.
