Armenia citizen detained for illegal transportation of weapons into Georgia
The investigation showed that the accused had unlawfully carried firearms into Georgia.
Officers from the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Revenue Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia have discovered one pistol and ten bullets while inspecting an Armenian citizen’s vehicle at the Sadakhlo customs checkpoint, on the border with Armenia, press service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia informed.

The investigation showed that the accused had unlawfully carried firearms into Georgia.

The Georgian law enforcement bodies removed the weapon and bullets from the detainee’s vehicle, and as factual evidence, reads the statement, reported Sputnik Georgia news agency.

The detained Armenian citizen, Frunzik A, born in 1947 has pleaded guilty.

He faces five to eight years in prison.
