Fight against terrorism, climate change top agenda of Holland, Boni Yayi meeting
French President Francois Hollande and visiting Beninese head of state Thomas Boni Yayi discussed on Tuesday the security situation in the Sahel and the risks posed by Boko Haram terror cells, as well as the upcoming international conference on climate change to be held in Paris by year end.
In a press release issued by the French presidency, both leaders "agree to maintain the deployed means until the disappearance of the threat posed by this group".

Hollande praised Benin`s move to send additional soldiers to help Cameroon, Niger, Nigeria and Chad to eradicate insurgents in the region, reiterating Paris`s commitment to keep supporting concerned countries in their fight against terrorism.

During the meeting, the French president and his Beninese counterpart also discussed the preparations of the international conference on climate change scheduled for Nov. 30 to Dec. 11.

They hoped the gathering would come out with an ambitious, universal and legally binding accord to limit global warming to 2 degrees Celsius and curb greenhouse emissions which triggered floods, heat waves and rising sea levels.
