Armenia opposition activist detained for throwing eggs at presidential palace - PHOTOS, VIDEO
Capital city Yerevan police on Thursday detained Armenia’s opposition Founding Parliament initiative member Gevorg Safaryan, who was attempting to throw eggs at the presidential palace during the march against the violence committed against Founding Parliament supporter Syuzi Gevorgyan.

About twenty members of the “ We are the Masters of Our Country” youth initiative marched toward and arrived at the Office of the President, News.am reports.

The initiative members are confident that Gevorgyan was subject to violence by the directive of the authorities, since she was informing the 6th Pan-Armenian Games’ participants from the diaspora about the situation in Armenia.

“We call upon our compatriots to condemn this violence of the ruling regime,” Safaryan specifically stated during the march.

Syuzi Gevorgyan is convinced that the two men that used violence against her had acted on the instructions of the powers that be.
