"No to Plunder" protesters to hold assembly against electricity price hike in Armenia
“No to Plunder” initiative will hold a youth assembly against the electricity price hike in Yerevan’s Lovers’ Park at 16:00 on September 1, the initiative’s coordinating group member Maxim Sargsyan told news.am, adding that their demands remain unchanged, AzVision.az reports.

“Our demands haven’t changed: We demand to cancel the tariff rise, revise the previous tariff with the view of decreasing it, and punish the police officers [which dispersed the sit-in in Yerevan’s Baghramyan Avenue] on June 23 and July 6,” he said.

According to the activist, exchange of opinions will take place and further steps of the struggle will be decided on September 1.

Sargsyan also said 20-30 initiative members are at the moment holding an awareness action in the centre of capital Yerevan, urging the citizens to take part in the upcoming assembly, since everyone’s participation is rather important.

Small number of policemen is controlling the march.
