Central Bank of Azerbaijan has given banks a verbal warning to eliminate agiotage in the currency market.

APA-Economics reports that CBA recommended commercial banks not to exceed maximum limit of selling rate of USD (1.055): “Following the processes in the neighbour countries’ economies, an agiotage is being observed in the country. Even, some exchange offices sold 1 USD for AZN 1.07. In order to eliminate the agiotage, the CBA warned commercial banks. The banks were recommended to sell USD at the limit of 1.055”.
