BOTAS management holding meeting on explosion in Kars
SOCAR: BOTAS says the repair works can take some days
BOTAS Management Board is holding meeting on explosion occurred in Kars part of Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum gas pipeline, BOTAS told.

According to company, detailed information will be given after meeting.

Head of SOCAR press service Nizameddin Orujov told APA that BOTAS regularly informs SOCAR: “The details of the event are currently being investigated. BOTAS says the repair works can take some days”.

SOCAR official noted that Azerbaijan part of the pipeline is out of operations since August 2 for repair works.

PKK terrorists committed an explosion on the Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum gas pipeline in the area of the village Sarikamis of Kars province, Turkey.

Governor of the province of Kars Gunay Ozdemir said that the explosion was committed in an attack by PKK terrorists.

"The explosion occurred as a result of a terrorist attack. Because of the strong fire to get closer to the scene has not been possible yet. Measures are taken to extinguish the fire, "said Ozdemir. According to him, the Gas supply through the pipeline has been suspended.

On August 4, an explosion was committed in the Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum gas pipeline.
