Turkey will inaugurate new Rize-Artvin Airport with a ceremony to be held on May 14. Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev will also attend the opening ceremony with his Turkish counterpart, AzVision.az reports citing the Turkish media.
Planes of Turkish and Azerbaijani President will make the first landing at the airport.
Note, Rize-Artvin Airport is the 2nd Airport built by Turkey by filling the sea after Ordu-Giresun Airport and the 5th airport in the world. There is no other example in Europe. With its 45-meter-wide and 3-meter-long runway, it is a project that will fully meet the airline transportation needs of the region. It will serve 3 million passengers a year.
