  Russian MFA corrects Lavrov

The official website of the Russian Foreign Ministry has corrected the views expressed by Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov at a joint press conference with his Armenian counterpart Ararat Mirzoyan in Yerevan on the situation around the village of Farrukh in Azerbaijan's Khojaly district, AzVision.az reports.

Lavrov's answer to the question about Farrukh village was as follows:

"There are certain results in terms of de-escalation of the situation in Karabakh. We hope that the start of the delimitation process on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border will help increase confidence between Baku and Yerevan and prevent incidents such as Farrukh in the area of responsibility of the Russian peacekeeping contingent."

Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry spokesperson Leyla Abdullayeva made the remarks commenting on Lavrov's statements regarding the situation with the village of Farrukh in the Khojaly district, which according to him, would be considered in the context of the delimitation of the borders between Azerbaijan and Armenia:

"We would like to note that the activities of the delimitation commissions established by Azerbaijan and Armenia are aimed at the delimitation of the state border of the two countries, as previously planned."

"This process does not envisage consideration of any issue outside the Azerbaijani-Armenian state border, including the territories of the Republic of Azerbaijan where the Russian peacekeeping contingent is stationed," she added.
