Russian Pipe Metallurgical Company supplies pipes for gas pipeline from Turkmenistan to China
The Russian Pipe Metallurgical Company has supplied large diameter pipes for the `Central Asia -China` international gas pipeline project fully and in accordance with the contract, the company said on Saturday.
The Russian Pipe Metallurgical Company shipped more than 100,000 tons of longitudinal welded pipes with external three-layer polyethylene coating and internal surface from January to September 2013. The pipes were produced by the Volga Pipe Plant in accordance with API Spec 5L standard of the American Petroleum Institute.

`Central Asia -China` international gas pipeline was commissioned in 2009 to transport Turkmen gas to China via Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan. The operations are underway to lay the third branch of the gas pipeline. The total design capacity of the three branches must reach 40 billion cubic meters of gas.

The Russian Pipe Metallurgical Company stressed that the pipes were delivered to Kazakhstan in 2013 and are intended for the third branch of the main gas pipeline and to increase the transit of Central Asian gas to China. Its construction began in 2012.

"The global energy market focuses on Central Asia`s oil and gas by attracting operators from many countries," the Russian Pipe Metallurgical Company director general Alexander Shiryaev said.

According to him, the Russian Pipe Metallurgical Company`s activity in this strategically important region and successful participation in such large-scale projects as the gas pipeline to China confirms the company`s high status as a pipe manufacturer meeting international quality standards.

An agreement on the construction of the fourth branch, which will pass through Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan to export additional 25 billion cubic meters of gas was reached during the recent negotiations between China and Turkmenistan. As a result, the total capacity of `Central Asia -China` international gas pipeline will increase up to 65 billion cubic meters of gas.
