Azerbaijan may build nuke plant in Bulgaria
The Bulgarian government has sent a package of energy cooperation projects to Azerbaijan.
Azerbaijani side is invited to participate in the construction of nuclear power plants, to invest in the construction of oil and gas storage facilities, oil refineries, as well as to participate in projects of construction of gas pipelines connecting the Bulgarian gas transportation system with similar systems of neighboring countries.
According to "Bulgaria Today", the statement came from the Ambassador of Azerbaijan in this country Emil Karimov.
According to him, currently the Azerbaijani side is studying these projects and their profitability.
"Energy cooperation is one of the most important areas of cooperation between Bulgaria and Azerbaijan. Bulgaria is interested in purchase of Azerbaijani gas, the government plans to purchase of gas in the volume of one billion cubic meters a year.
In the future, these amounts may be increased ", the ambassador said and added that at the moment, negotiations continue for the supply of Azerbaijani gas through the Interconnector Greece-Bulgaria.
"Bulgaria is going to build a pipeline, which will be connected with the Trans-Adriatic Pipeline (TAP) to supply Azerbaijani gas to Europe. By doing so, Bulgaria will be able to receive gas from Azerbaijan, " said Karimov.
