Azerbaijani grandmaster Shahriyar Mammadyarov will face Norwegian Magnus Carlsen in the first round of the Aimchess Rapid, the eighth leg of the 2022 Meltwater Champions Chess Tour, to be held on October 14-21 online on chess24.
The 16-player field will be cut in half by the 4-day round-robin Prelims.
The total prize fund is $150,000, with $750 for a win and $250 for a draw in the Prelims.
