Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Culture and Tourism has developed the tourism development strategy for 2016-2025, the ministry told.
The tourism development strategy is a document involving information and recommendations about the current state of the tourism industry in Azerbaijan and its development potential, the government’s role in the development of tourism, forms of potential cooperation between interested sides, methods of successfully building this cooperation, etc.
It presents a strategy recommending the building of tourism policy on four major strategic principles to turn Azerbaijan into an attractive and successful tourism destination, creation of favorable economic conditions for industrial development, diversity of tourism products, necessary stimulation for industrial development in keeping with improvement of industrial standards and protection of public interest, and a variety of proposals on providing planning, coordination, research and statistical assistance.
Moreover, the document gives extensive information on the four main development directions – the improvement of institutional structure, strengthening of infrastructural development, diversity of tourism experience, and heightening of professionalism in the marketing and communication system – and recommendations on what goals the state has to achieve more substantial development in tourism.
Note that, the strategy has been submitted to the concerned body for approval and is currently at the stage of concordance.
