"Unfortunately, due to Tehran's position, I have to call Iran's charge d'affaires. If Iran stopped detaining French citizens, our relations would be better," Colonna said.
She stressed that the Iranian authorities are currently keeping seven French citizens in detention, which is unacceptable.
The minister noted that Paris cannot also agree with Iran's policy against the demonstrators.
