The Heydar Aliyev Center hosted a concert marking Georgia's Independence Day featuring famous Georgian performers, including the Shvidkatsa ensemble.
The concert began with the performance of the national anthems of both countries.
Addressing the event, Zurab Pataradze, Georgian Ambassador to Azerbaijan, noted that relations between the two countries are of strategic nature. The diplomat highlighted the significant role of the high-level reciprocal visits in enhancing bilateral cooperation.
"We are implementing joint large-scale regional projects. The cooperation between the two countries in the field of culture is also actively and effectively developing," he added.
The ambassador congratulated Azerbaijan on the upcoming national holiday – 28 May, Independence Day.
In his remarks, Tinatin Rukhadze, Georgian Minister of Culture, emphasized that friendly relations between Georgia and Azerbaijan have been developing for centuries, adding that this event is a clear manifestation of the unshakable ties between the two countries.
“Azerbaijan is not only a close neighbor for us, but also a symbol of security, peace, friendship and good neighborliness. We take pride in this relationship,” Rukhadze said.
The concert featured renditions of national songs from both Georgia and Azerbaijan.
