22nd acrobatic gymnastics championship starts in Baku - PHOTOS
The 22nd Baku acrobatic gymnastics championship started in the Baku Gymnastics School Sept. 4.
Some 36 gymnasts, representing the Baku Gymnastics School, the Neftchi sports club and the Nizami district sports school, are involved in the competitions.

Director of the Baku Gymnastics School Adil Huseynzade and sports manager of the Gymnastics Federation of Azerbaijan Azer Novruzov welcomed the participants.

The juniors and seniors, mixed doubles and pairs, as well as trios are involved in the competitions.

The trio consists of Azerbaijani acrobats Lala Huseynova, Aynur Huseynova and Narmin Ramazanova, who took part in the Baku-2015 first European Games.

Adil Huseynzade, the director of the Baku Gymnastics School, said that the level of participants increased compared to the previous competition.

"We can say that we have the world class athletes,” Huseynzade told. “Most of them represent the Baku Gymnastics School. This is our trio that represented Azerbaijan at the European Games and a men`s pair. The athletes are very artistic. I appreciate their performance. Our mixed pairs, strong in the choreography and acrobatics, have a perspective. I think they have a great future."

The final of the 22nd Baku acrobatic gymnastics championship will be held on September 5. Those ranking first, second and third will be awarded with prizes and gifts.
