State Migration Service (SMS) of Azerbaijan is implementing a pilot project in collaboration with the International Organization for Migration (IOM).
The project provides for the return of illegal migrants living in Azerbaijan to their countries, deputy chief of STS, the third degree adviser of State Migration Service Parviz Musayev told Trend, AzVision.az reports.
According to him, the project on the deportation of illegal migrants was discussed and agreed with the IOM. Its implementation is scheduled to begin after while.
"The implementation of the project requires funding in the amount of AZN 50,000. At the moment, discussions to address financial issues are underway. Negotiations on this issue have been held during the official visit of the Director General of the IOM William Singh to Azerbaijan last week. After solving the financial issues the project will be launched within one to two months," Musayev said.
