The source said Ankara considers the construction of ‘Turkish Stream’ as important, but along with this, Turkey is aspiring to create a joint gas distribution network with Russia.

This is currently one of the most important and unresolved issues for Turkey, according to the source.

The source also said the issues of construction of the ‘Turkish Stream’ and creation of a joint gas distribution network with Russia will be discussed after a repeated parliamentary election is held in Turkey.

The repeated parliamentary election will be held in Turkey on November 1.

The project for ‘Turkish Stream’ involves the construction of a gas pipeline, which is to run from Russia to Turkey through the Black Sea and have a capacity of 63 billion cubic meters of gas a year

The project involves the construction of four gas pipeline strings at a capacity of 15.75 billion cubic meters of gas each.

The gas, which is to go via the first string, is completely meant for Turkish market, while the remaining volumes will be brought to Turkey’s border with Greece, where a gas hub is planned to be located.

It was planned to start the pipeline’s construction in June, but the project is being still discussed.
