Under the presidential instruction, by the order of the Cabinet of Ministers dated Sept.7, 2 million manats has initially been allocated for the elimination of consequences of the 7-magnitude earthquake that hit the country’s Sheki district on Sept.4, Deputy Prime Minister Abid Sharifov told reporters on Tuesday.
About 90 families are residing in the quake-affected village, Sharifov said, adding the kindergarten building, which also housed the local authority, and other four houses collapsed.
Sharifov said there are cracks in some houses in other villages and a residential building in the district center collapsed.
Investigation is underway, the deputy PM said, noting fortunately, there are no human causalities although the earthquake was strong.
