  Pashinyan: Armenia received Azerbaijan

Armenia has received a response from Azerbaijan to its proposals for a peace treaty, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said at a press conference on Tuesday, AzVision.az reports citing Armenian media.

"In mid-February, Armenia submitted regular proposals on the draft peace treaty with Baku to Azerbaijan," he said.

"Two or three days ago we received a response from Azerbaijan. Is there any progress? It should be noted that we see certain progress. But the more we move forward, the more fundamental problems emerge", Pashinyan noted.

In particular, the Armenian premier invented that Baku is allegedly trying to consolidate "territorial claims related to the territory of the Republic of Armenia" through a possible peace treaty. This is a "red line" for Yerevan, the Armenian prime minister added.

"If we reach a situation when one, two or three days are left before signing the document (peace treaty with Azerbaijan - ed.) - this will actually be good news and not bad because it will mean that we managed to make progress in the negotiations," Pashinyan also said.

He noted that the willingness to sign the peace agreement will not mean that the Armenian side has achieved "the document of its dreams", but will only imply that the signed document can ensure long-term peace, stability, and development in the region.
