Tourists spent AZN 1.3 bln in Azerbaijan over last decade - deputy minister
From 2005 to 2015, tourists have spent AZN 1.3 billion in Azerbaijan, Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism Nazim Samadov said at a business forum on tourism held in Baku on Sept.9.
Samadov noted that during this period the number of tourists has changed from 1.1 million to 2.3 million.

“The number of hotels has changed from 262 to 535 and that of tourism facilities from 197 to 286. There are about 42,000 people working in the tourism sector. And tourism makes up 4.1% of the gross domestic product,” said the deputy minister.
