People struggles against constitutional changes in Armenia
To prevent the adoption of the draft constitutional reforms, it’s necessary to establish a united front, Vahe Melkonyan, member of the newly-created “No to Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) Constitution” civil campaign told News.am, AzVision.az reports.

He also said their campaign is ready to cooperate with other individuals and organizations struggling against the constitutional reforms.

According to Melkonyan, the draft constitutional reforms try to ensure not only the “longevity” of Serzh Sargsyan’s power but also that of the RPA, depriving other parties of the opportunity to govern the country.

“They are trying to create something like a Communist Party in Armenia so that other parties cannot come to power. We must have a system, where the power will be given to the one whom the people wish,” he said.

In Melkonyan’s words, the campaign hasn’t yet developed its methods of struggle against the constitutional changes.
