Gas extraction from European storage facilities hits 10 year-high

Gas extraction from underground storage facilities (UGS) in Europe has increased against the backdrop of a cold snap, which will delay the end of the heating season, and has already reached a maximum for early April over the past 10 years, AzVision.az reports citing TASS.

Now storage facilities in Europe are 55.59% full (20.67 percentage points higher than the average for this date over the past five years), they contain 60.5 billion cubic meters of gas. The load on European storage facilities during the winter was higher than in previous years due to changes in logistics and gas supply sources.

The current week in Europe is colder than the previous one. Temperatures in almost all EU countries are below the climatic norm, and at night they even switched to the negative zone. The average share of wind generation in EU electricity generation in April is around 17%.

Russia’s Gazprom said that it supplies gas to Europe in transit through Ukraine in the amount of 41 million cubic meters per day through the Sudzha gas measuring station.

Gazprom supplies Russian gas for transit through the territory of Ukraine in the amount confirmed by the Ukrainian side through the Sudzha were 41 million cubic meters as of April 6. The application for the Sokhranovka has been rejected, a representative of Gazprom told reporters. On April 5, the pumping volume amounted to 41.1 million cubic meters.
