The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia commented on the provocation by Armenia on the border with Azerbaijan, AzVision.az reports.
"After the shooting on the border, Moscow took immediate measures to prevent the situation from escalating," spokeswoman of Russian MFA Maria Zakharova said at weekly briefing on April 12.
Spokesperson said that the incident shows the importance of observing the tripartite agreements signed by the leaders of Russia, Azerbaijan, and Armenia: "Immediately after the incident on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border yesterday, the representatives of the Border Service of the Russian Federal Security Service went to the area together with the officials of Azerbaijan and Armenia and took the necessary measures."
