Military reservists must be ready at any moment for being called to military camps to check their preparedness for mobilization. The main purpose is to collect necessary resource within a certain time frame, Azerbaijan’s State Service for Mobilization and Conscription told on Sept.10.
Practice for military reservists is held on a regular basis, the Service said.
The Service also clarified who are meant by persons with military duty. "Persons with military duty are those who are citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan. While in reserve, they are called to military trainings, military inspection and special meetings. To check the preparedness for mobilizaiton, they are also called to special gatherings. Citizens who evade from fulfilling their obligations on preparedness for mobilization bear responsibility in the manner prescribed by Azerbaijan’s legislation,” the Service said.
The Service also said the person, after being called to training, must inform his workplace about it and present relevant documents to them after returning from the training.
“Employers and other officials who prevent citizens from visiting the gatherings or military units in time during the call to mobilization or post-war period, bear responsibility in the manner prescribed by Azerbaijan’s legislation. That is to say, organizations too carry some responsibility. Nevertheless, organizations must pay their employees during the time they participate in trainings”.
Note that, the overnight taking of some persons who are in reserve to the command-staff military exercises have triggered some question among the population on social media.
