The Chinese Diaspora has achieved outstanding success through long-term efforts in various countries and different fields, such as Yuan Zheng (Eric Yuan), the founder of Zoom, Jerry Yang, the co-founder of Yahoo, Yang Chen-Ning, the Nobel laureate in physics, Steven Chu, the 12th US Secretary of Energy, and Lee Kuan Yew, the former Prime Minister of Singapore.

We believe there are five factors that contribute to the success of the Chinese community overseas:

1. Excellent educational background : Many of them have received excellent education in China or high-quality education abroad. Such background offers them a solid academic foundation and professional skills, making them competitive in their fields.

2. Hard work and diligence : Most Chinese abroad have penned their success through long-term efforts and hard work. Apart from academic background and skills, they have also demonstrated unrelenting pursuit and continuous practice. These traits allow them to stand out in a highly competitive environment.

3. Strong family upbringing : Many of the representatives of the Chinese community abroad come from families that place a great emphasis on education. Their upbringing is based on strong family values, which helps them develop good morals and habits, such as self-discipline, diligence, honesty, and respect for others.

4. Innovative spirit : They display an innovative pioneering spirit. They constantly seek new opportunities and challenges, explore new fields and development directions.

5. Good interpersonal relationships : Many Chinese overseas actively participate in local community and group activities, establishing a wide range of interpersonal relationships. Sometimes these relationships can be key to their career success.

These factors are multifaceted and come together to build a strong foundation for the Chinese abroad. They interact and promote each other, allowing the community to succeed overseas. I would also like to emphasize that these qualities are not exclusive to the Chinese abroad. In fact, many successful communities share similar characteristics and have achieved great success, such as overseas Indians and Jews.

Moreover, the achievements of the Chinese diaspora have also boosted the development of China in various aspects.

They are the promoters of Chinese culture all over the world, having a direct effect on local people’s understanding of Chinese core values. The diaspora plays the role of a bridge for China that facilitates an exchange of Chinese and foreign cultures. They organize cultural events, offer Chinese language classes, and spread Chinese traditions such as calligraphy and tea art.

The Chinese diaspora is familiar with the trade situation, policies and laws, and investment environment of their respective countries, which makes them excellent economic advocates. They also have a natural connection with China and language communication skills. They are one of the main forces promoting bilateral trade .

As the representatives of the Chinese diaspora have their own success stories and accumulate wealth over the years, they try to give back to their homeland through actively participating in and supporting the development of education in China. The establishment of the Huaqiao University is an excellent illustration. The Chinese diasporas have helped cultivate and shape many outstanding talents. They donate money and equipment to schools all over China and become great advocates for the development of education overall in the country.

In terms of politics , the Chinese abroad are the promoters of China's Peace Policy and Initiatives. They give full play to their own advantages, actively convey China's political philosophy of peaceful development to the local country's government and mainstream society through different means and promote cooperation between the two governments in various fields such as politics, economy, and education.
