Ilham Aliyev: Armenia keeps avoiding constructive position in negotiation process
`Separating Zangazur from Azerbaijan and giving it to Armenia in early 20th century, they in fact eliminated geographical ties of the whole Turkic world, said the President of the Republic of Azebraijan`.

The United Nations adopted four resolutions which demand the immediate withdrawal of Armenian armed forces from all occupied territories of Azerbaijan. Unfortunately, Armenia denies implementing these resolutions, continues the occupation of Azerbaijan’s territories and avoids taking a sincere and constructive position in negotiation process. This and all other conflicts should be resolved based on the principles and norms of the international law within the territorial integrity, sovereignty and inviolability of borders of countries.

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev made the remarks at the fifth summit of the Cooperation Council of Turkic Speaking States (CCTS) in Astana on Sept.11.

Nagorno-Karabakh is a native land of Azerbaijan and our people have lived there for centuries, President Aliyev said, noting that Zangazur, the ancient Turkic land, is also our native land. “Separating Zangazur from Azerbaijan and giving it to Armenia in early 20th century, they in fact eliminated geographical ties of the whole Turkic world,” the president noted.

President Aliyev, noting the importance of regional security issues, said the final declaration of the summit contains important views on the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.

The declaration also stresses the importance of respect for the norms and principles of the international law, the head of state said.
