Karabakh Armenians transferred by Tsarist Russia from Iran are “worshiped” in the West - Mubariz Ahmadoglu

The West exhibits an exceptional attitude towards Karabakh Armenians, and certain forces in Russia take advantage of this factor. Today, Russian politicians consider Karabakh and Armenia from a different point of view. They believe that Armenians in Karabakh need to be strengthened militarily to become one of the strongholds in the region in the future and a second Transnistrian region should also be created in the Caucasus.

Such a policy by Russia is based on a line of succession. After the signing of the Gulustan and Turkmenchay treaties in the wake of the Russia-Iran war, Tsarist Russia transferred a large part of the Armenians on the territory of Armenia to the Azerbaijani lands - Karabakh and Armenia. Moreover, Tsarist Russia relocated many Armenians, who backed them in their fight against the Ottoman Empire, to Armenia and Karabakh to ensure security. Having been dissatisfied with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan’s policy, Moscow leaked some archival materials on this topic to Armenian media. Diplomats from the United States, the European Union and other countries must take a look at these documents.

Just like Armenians of Marseille and Glendale, Karabakh Armenians are not indigenous. If Armenians moved to Marseille, Lyon, Glendale, and other parts of the world to live, they were settled in Karabakh to serve Russia’s imperial goals. This is evident even now. While Armenians and Azerbaijanis can coexist in all parts of the world, they are presented as “ethnically incompatible” on the territory of Azerbaijan. The doctrine of former Armenian president Robert Kocharyan used to say exactly that.

The West’s soonest understanding of the situation will be beneficial for the region and Europe as a whole. The Azerbaijani government keeps using the full capabilities of “soft power” to ensure the safe co-existence and reintegration of Karabakh Armenians, who are considered to be the bearers of the policy of Tsarist Russia. Unfortunately, those who are seeking to push this process into military operations are still very strong.
