During the meeting, the Pakistani ambassador was informed about the charter, structure and activity of the community.
Aziz Alakbarli briefed the Pakistani diplomat about the forcible deportation of the Azerbaijanis from their ancestral land, now called "Armenia", four times in the last century, including in 1905-1906, 1918-1920, 1948-1953 and 1987-1991, and the crimes against humanity committed against Azerbaijani compatriots during these events.
The ambassador was informed that the Armenian government refuses to take any measures to restore the rights of the expelled Azerbaijanis and deprives them of the right to live in their homeland. Although the Community appealed to the Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan in this regard, attempts to call for dialogue remain unanswered.
International appeals regarding the right of return of the Western Azerbaijanis were responded by leading organizations. The UN circulated 4 documents, including the Community's Concept of Return, as its official document. The Community received responses from officials at UNESCO and the European Union. He underlined that there is still the need in the support of the international community./
Ambassador Bilal Hayee emphasized that Pakistan is and will always be alongside Azerbaijan in its fair struggle.
Furthermore, Bilal Hayee familiarized himself with the conditions created in the administrative building of the Western Azerbaijan Community.
The meeting was attended by the community leadership including Board Chairman, MP Aziz Alakbarli, Deputy Chairman, MP Hikmet Babaoglu, Community spokesperson Ulviyya Zulfikar.
