The defense minister gave detailed information about the military-political situation in the region, the Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and the problems of more than a million people who became refugees and internally displaced persons as a result of the Armenian aggression.
Zakir Hasanov said Armenia continues flagrantly violating norms and principles of the international law, touching about the reasons of escalation of the tension on the contact line of Azerbaijani and Armenian troops. At the same time, the minister asked a number of questions of the guests.
Recalling his visit to Azerbaijan early this year in the context of the preparation of his report on escalation of violence in the conflict zone, Walter said his request to visit the contact line of troops was approved.
The minister gave instructions to ensure the safety of the delegation led by Robert Walter during the visit to the contact line and hold meetings with personnel.
