Spokesperson for the Ministry Samaya Mammadova told AzVision.az that Baku rejected to nominate its candidacy because of preparations for other upcoming large-scale events.
"We did not bid, because we will host the Islamic Solidarity Games 2017, F-1, Chess Olympiad.
In addition, we are preparing for the Summer Olympic Games due to be held in Rio-de-Janeiro in 2016.
The Olympic Games 2024 demand great attention and concentration," the ministry spokesperson said.
