Meeting between Azerbaijan and Armenian leaders in Brussels postponed: EU special rep

EU Special Representative for the South Caucasus and the crisis in Georgia Toivo Klaar has said that the planned meeting between Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan in Brussels in late October has been postponed, according to Armenian media.

“The process of normalizing Azerbaijan-Armena relations is slow, but it is in the right direction,” he said as part of the conference of the Armenian APRI think tank entitled “Progress in Uncertainty” on October 25.

Klaar expressed hope that the negotiations will be continued and the signing of a peace treaty between Armenia and Azerbaijan will be the result of these negotiations.

The special representative also positively assessed the “3+3” meeting in Tehran, considering it useful and conducive to dialogue in the region.

Klaar emphasized the importance of cooperation and discussions between neighbouring countries.
