Some forces are concerned over the strengthening of Azerbaijan and Turkey, and they are trying to discredit the two countries, speaker of the Azerbaijani Parliament Ogtay Asadov said at a meeting with the Turkish delegation led by Foreign Minister Feridun Sinirlioglu, the parliament told on Sept. 17.
Relations between Azerbaijan and Turkey stand at the highest level, said the speaker.
Speaking about economic ties, the speaker said that the trade turnover between the two countries is measured in billions.
“About 2,400 Turkish companies are operating in Azerbaijan. The two fraternal countries are investing large amounts in each other`s economy,” Asadov added.
Touching upon the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, Sinirlioglu said that Turkey will continue to support Azerbaijan for the liberation of its Armenian-occupied territories.
