The PM also received greetings from a number of people on the social networking site. People tweeted with the hashtag #HappyBdayPM, which was trending at the top in India.
Apart from many leaders who took to Twitter to wish Modi, President Pranab Mukherjee and a number of global leaders also wished PM Modi on his birthday.
Though most global leaders did not greet Modi via tweets, the PM thanked most of them like the Chinese President Xi Jinping and German chancellor Angela Merkel via individual tweets.
