Armenian parliamentary factions boycott vote on NKR recognition bill
Most of the parliamentary factions boycotted the vote on the bill on Armenia`s recognition of the independence of self-proclaimed Nagorno-Karabakh presented by the head of opposition Heritage faction Zaruhi Postanjyan.

The bill has not passed the first reading, since only 10 MPs voted for the bill. No one voted against, while opposition MP Alexander Arzumanyan abstained.

The head of the parliamentary faction of the ruling Republican Party of Armenia Galust Sahakyan said that his faction would not take part in the vote.

“We have to show flexibility. Given the current situation, our coalition colleagues will not participate in the vote, too,” he said.

Secretary of the Prosperous Armenia parliamentary faction Naira Zohrabyan also stated that the faction will not take part in the voting.

The head of the parliamentary faction of the Armenian National Congress Levon Zurabyan said that despite the fact that they support the recognition of the "NKR", at the moment they consider the move inexpedient.

Earlier, the parliamentary faction of ARF Dashnaktsutyun said they would vote for the bill.
