Tourism Agency and International Climbing and Mountaineering Federation have agreed to host a tournament in Azerbaijan. Teams from 22 countries will compete in March 2024.
Rustam Najafov, Chairman at Shahdag Mountain Resort, Shahdag has established a ski mountaineering team to host the tournament. The team comprises youth and children from neighboring regions, mainly Guba and Gusar.
They have been given all the opportunities to win a license for the 2026 Olympic Games, including inviting experts and trainers from France. The skiers are also sent to Andorra and other European countries for training.
