Look what is happening in different parts of the world. There was none of them a year ago. The number of bloody clashes is increasing, and its geography is enlarging. New countries are joining this clashes and wars. Europe is experiencing a crisis. I have already said that it is mainly a moral crisis, President Ilham Aliyev said on Sept.17.

President Ilham Aliyev made the remarks at a meeting with locals in Agsu.

The head of state mentioned that discrimination and ill-treatment against refugees go beyond all frames.

“They are talking about principles and values. Taking advantage of this, they continue interfering in other countries’ internal affairs. Then, please apply these principles in your country as well. They beat and torture women, children and elderly people. What is these people’s fault? They make a discrimination claiming that they won’t let Muslim refugees enter their countries. What does it mean?! This is fascism, racism, xenophobia. Does fascism emerge in Europe again?! Fascism is an evil which was not created in the Muslim world. We know very well where it was created. They want people to forget about it. The West is deliberately distorting information about World War II. They want to humble the heroism of the Soviet army in this war, including the Azerbaijani people. The view that we watch on TV and internet reminds us of those days. Does fascism emerges in Europe again?! Are people divided into categories once again: nation, religion? Therefore, islamophobia is a great threat. It is a danger for us. Because we are Muslims. It is danger for them as well”, said President Aliyev.

The president said this is either ideological confrontation, or struggle and war for natural resources, and confrontation for expanding the influence of war. Therefore, we should be and are ready for this.

“We have managed to prevent outside forces that do not want our development from taking root in Azerbaijan. That is why they make false accusations against us. But we are ready for it. The main thing is the development of Azerbaijan, people’s living in peace, tranquility and stability. Azerbaijan is an economic, political and moral example to the world. In fact, Azerbaijan is a multinational country. All nations are living as one family in Azerbaijan, there is no discrimination. Representatives of different religions are living in brotherhood,” said the president.

President Aliyev said there can be no discrimination between us, and regardless of religion, nationality, we are all citizens of Azerbaijan and have the same rights.

“But look what is happening in different parts of the world. Therefore, I am sure that the model of Azerbaijan will be studied. We didn’t do it to be liked by others or be an example for others. We did it for ourselves. We don’t want anyone to interfere in our business. Do those reading lectures to Azerbaijan, love us more than we do? Of course not. They want to expand the influence, involve Azerbaijan in the various provocations.

We are not succumbing to provocations. If they are criticizing us, then we are on the right path. The people of Azerbaijan are strong, are enduring and will endure all the pressure and will respond all lies and prove to the world that they can only build friendly relations with us. We are ready for it, if they are ready as well. If they are not ready, then let everyone to deal with their own business,” the president completed.
