On September 19, 2015 Embassy of Romania, which fulfills the mandate of NATO Contact Point Embassy to the Republic of Azerbaijan for the fourth time in a row, organized a NATO presentation stand at EuroVillage festival.

The festival is held annually in Baku by the Delegation of the European Union to Azerbaijan in cooperation with the Embassies of European Union member states and in partnership with the Administration of the State Historical-Architectural Reserve “Icheri Sheher”.

As a NATO and EU member, Romania actively supports Azerbaijan to enhance its relations with the European and Euro-Atlantic institutions.

NATO presentation stand is part of the public diplomacy efforts done by Embassy of Romania to promote Euro-Atlantic values and standards in Azerbaijan. Within its activity Romanian diplomatic mission pays a constant attention to disseminate information about the role and policies of NATO. The goal pursued by Embassy of Romania is to increase public awareness, especially among the Azerbaijani young generation, regarding North-Atlantic Alliance and the benefits of NATO-Azerbaijan cooperation.

Romania, which has been the second country in the world to recognize Azerbaijan’s independence, considers that Azerbaijan is a reliable and highly valued partner of the North-Atlantic Alliance. There is a big potential for development of NATO-Azerbaijan relations in the coming years. South Caucasus is a region that is strategically important to the North-Atlantic Alliance.
