Israel Appoints New Ambassador to Russia
The Israeli government appointed diplomat Zvi Heifetz on Monday as Israel
Heifetz previously served as the Israeli ambassador to the United Kingdom from 2003-2007, and to Austria from 2013-2015.

`The Cabinet decided to appoint Zvi Heifetz Ambassador to Russia instead of Dorit Golender, who is finishing her work there,` the Israeli government stated.

Golender served as the Israeli ambassador to Russia from 2010-2015.

According to media reports, Russian-born Heifetz previously worked in Moscow in 1989 as part of a group of Israeli diplomats at the Embassy of the Netherlands.
