Several media institutions violate laws - Ali Hasanov
Activities of mass media representatives in Azerbaijan is being regulated, as in all civil countries, according to the requirements of relevant legislature. Our legislature guarantees freedom of speech and information, independence of media organizations and journalists and ensures their rights to freely receive and impart information, Ali Hasanov told, AzVision.az reports

Moreover, foreign mass media representatives must function in Azerbaijan within the boundaries of the certain laws and deeply acknowledge their responsibilities before the society and country and must not breach the laws.

Mr Hasanov said, the ` regulation on the accreditation of foreign mass media representatives in the Republic of Azerbaijan` was approved on March 18 in 2015. Relevant section in the official website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has also been created in order to provide online accreditation opportunity. Unfortunately, despite several warnings, television channels like `Interaz`, ` Euroaz`, web sites such as `Voice of America` , `Meydan TV` and many other foreign mass media organizations do not obey the requirements of the law and are engaged in illegal actions.

Recent detention of several mass media representatives by law enforcement bodies pursue the goal to invite their activities to be fit to the legal criteria indicated in the `Regulation on the accreditation of foreign mass media representatives in the Republic of Azerbaijan`.

Ali Hasanov highlighted, legal measures will be taken towards everyone breaching Azerbaijani laws , regardless of their professional occupation.
