Azerbaijan, Brazil explore prospects for agricultural cooperation

Azerbaijan’s Minister of Agriculture Majnun Mammadov has met with a delegation led by Secretary of Commerce and International Relations at the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock of Brazil Roberto Perosa, AzVision.az reports. 

Minister Majnun Mammadov said that President Ilham Aliyev designated the advancement of agriculture as a priority.

Mammadov provided detailed information about the role of agriculture in boosting the non-oil sector in Azerbaijan, as well as the state support to the agricultural sector, including reforms in the field of agriculture.

The sides emphasized that there is great potential for the expansion of mutual relations in agricultural sphere.

The meeting featured discussions on cooperation between Azerbaijan and Brazil in the agricultural sector, as well as issues related to setting up a legal framework, increasing the turnover of agricultural products, transferring advanced agricultural technologies, strengthening cooperation in the field of animal husbandry, conducting pilot programs in the field of scientific research in the agricultural sector.

The sides had a broad exchange of views on other issues of mutual interest.
