Strong 6.6-Magnitude Aftershock Earthquake Hits Chile
A strong 6.6-magnitude aftershock earthquake struck central Chile.
A strong 6.6-magnitude aftershock earthquake struck central Chile on Monday, the United States Geological Survey (USGS) said.

The quake hit 28 miles west from the Chilean city of Illapel, Coquimbo Region.

There were no immediate reports about the damage or casualties.

A powerful 8.3-magnitude quake hit Chile’s central Coquimbo Region, located about 500 kilometres (310 miles) from the capital Santiago, at around 22:54 GMT on September 16.

The earth tremors and a consequent tsunami claimed lives of 13 people, while about 1,000 Chilean citizens were evacuated.
