  Azerbaijan to construct four new renewable energy plants this year: Minister

Azerbaijan’s Minister of Energy Parviz Shahbazov has said that the foundation of four new renewable energy plants will be laid within the "Green World Solidarity Year".

Shahbazov made this remark at a meeting of the Commission established by the relevant Decree of the President of Azerbaijan, "On additional measures related to the implementation of projects in the field of using renewable energy sources," AzVision.az reports citing the ministry. 

The Minister drew attention to the issues on the agenda related to the implementation of the Decree and talked about the progress of the projects during the last period since the last meeting.

A report on the process of identifying water bodies intended for offshore wind energy projects as the territory of renewable energy sources was also presented during the meeting.

The Commission also discussed the works carried out in connection with the projects implemented with the UAE-based "Masdar" company, hydrogen production, as well as the measures implemented in connection with the "Caspian-EU green energy corridor" project and other current issues.
