"The resolution casts a shadow on the future of relations between Azerbaijan and EU."

The Swiss Zurich hosted the sessions of the Senate of International Prosecutors` Association and Executive Committee, including the 20th Jubilee Annual Conference and General Assembly of the International Prosecutors` Association.

AzVision.az reports citing the Ministry of Justice and General Prosecutor`s office that Azerbaijan was represented by a delegation composed of the authorized employees of the Prosecutor`s office and Ministry of Justice led by Minister of Justice Fikret Mammadov and general prosecutor Zakir Garalov.

Speaking at the plenary session of the conference, general prosecutor Zakir Garalov noted , fight against corruption is one of the priority directions in the political activity of president Ilham Aliyev saying that our country had joined all international initiatives in this sphere, all international conventions are implemented in legislation, significant steps are being taken to improve the legislative basis, anti-corruption laws have been brought into compliance with world standards.

He said the document adopted by the European Parliament on September 10 has become a result of biased and destructive attitude. "The resolution was adopted at the order and in the interests of a number of political circles and became the continuation of the systemic campaign of blackening carried against our country", he said.

Garalov said , the biased resolution of the European Parliament is a blow to the effective cooperation between Azerbaijan and EU and casts a shadow on the future of bilateral relations. A statement in connection with the unfounded resolution of the European Parliament was presented to the event participants on behalf of the Azerbaijani delegation.
