"Dear fellow countrymen! I heartily congratulate you on the occasion of the sacred Eid al-Adha, the symbol of spiritual unity and solidarity of Muslims of the world, and send my best wishes.
Every year Eid al-Adha is celebrated in the Republic of Azerbaijan, where democratic principles, freedom of worship and conscience were established, at the state level as national holiday. In these days, the believers in our country are performing rituals, praying for our country to be blessed with prosperity and progress and remembering the undying memory of our martyrs who gave their souls for the independence and territorial integrity of Azerbaijan. People taste the sweetness of being closer to God and adherence to spiritual values, displaying high level of readiness for good deeds. Adha rites add to the solidarity and perseverance [dominating] in our society, developing into a striking manifestation of national unity, humanism and brotherhood, goodness and mercifulness.
My dear sisters and brothers:
I express once again my sincere congratulations to you and all our compatriots living outside the country and wish the prayers you make on these days for prosperity and welfare of our people and state to be accepted by Almighty. May this sacred holiday bring happiness and abundance to your families. Happy Eid al-Adha!" the president said in his message.
