`I think, one of the main threats to human rights defenders is the replacement of them with the group called “revealers” in the OSCE, the European Council, and the European Union`.

The “revealers” are being invited to all events of those organizations under the label of “civil society representatives”. Accordingly, whenever states take measures against the illegal actions committed by the “revealers”, mentioned organizations defend and pose them as victims, human rights defender Sahib Mammadov said during his speech in the annual OSCE conference-the Human Dimension Implementation Meetings (HDMI).

He said, the "revealers" function under the influence of various powers and implement their orders. They have ties with special services of certain states and special bodies of transnational companies.

‘I would like to ask a question: Do you consider so-called “revealers” as representatives of civil society? If yes, do you deem the “famous revealers” Snouden and Assange as civil society representatives and defend them as well?’.

Sahib Mammadov said, another threat to human rights defenders is “breeding” of fake human rights defenders by several states, including the USA and Norway, in the third countries.

In fact, such defenders merely implement orders by their “owners”.Though those defenders are completely unknown to their countries, they are being respected as “famous human rights defenders” by those organizations.

Sahib Mammadov addressed a question to the special reporter of the United Nations on human defenders Michel Forst: “Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan made a declaration on cancellation of a permit for the special UN reporters to come to Azerbaijan . I have seen many special reporters in Azerbaijan, including all persons previously holding your current position. Do you have any intention to come to Azerbaijan?`

Dodging the question MIchel Forst, said, he should be invited. However, he should apply for such an initiative. “I will meet prisoners if I come”, he added- despite the fact that he has no such a mandate.
