Roberto Montella re-elected as OSCE PA Secretary General

Following a unanimous endorsement by the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly’s Bureau in April, the Assembly’s Standing Committee today overwhelmingly re-elected Secretary General Roberto Montella for another five-year term, AzVision.az reports citing the organization.

His new mandate will begin on January 1, 2026, and end on December 31, 2030.

The Secretary General holds general responsibility for managing the affairs of the Assembly; ensuring the efficiency of the Secretariat and overseeing its Copenhagen and Vienna offices; and carrying out the decisions of the Bureau, the Standing Committee, and the Assembly.

First assuming his post in January 2016, the Secretary General was re-elected by the Standing Committee in 2019 for a second five-year mandate starting 1 January 2021.
